The Buddha in the Cloud
The Buddha stands on top of a mountain, his head above a white cloud. The cloud represents a pair of wings and the whole imagery is a highly surreal one, and one cannot help but ask: is the Buddha resting his head on a pillow of cloud, or has he been lifted to such a great height by his “wings”? The different materials used in the carving helps to create a unique aesthetic experience for the viewer.
